Emotional roller coaster 'Jealous Girl' by Ben Kweller
On one side are those relationships strong and stable. In addition, however, are what I call "emotional roller coaster" where the emotional ups and downs are the order of the day. Screams, jealousy, arguments in public ... The max mix in this type of "affaires" becomes so deadly that our friend Ben Kweller has not hesitated to talk about all this in 'Jealous Girl' latest single "Go Fly a Kyte "LP filed earlier this 2012.
Taking advantage of this promotional Ben has risen to the network with the same theme music video directed by Mike Angelo Torres, and performed by actors Arienne Gray Williams and Adkins. In this appreciate how intense and passionate love ends up becoming a direct path to death for the (apparently) poor kid living bipolar anger his girlfriend.
If you go the Californian music we recommend that you approach the November 15 by the Apolo in Barcelona. Ben Kweller perform an exclusive performance in Spain with a view to promote their latest LP! Tickets can purchase from the same and from 20 euros (no fee) via Ticketmaster.

Essential Classics by Bach's Goldberg Variations
Musicmonday Musik place in the 21 Century
has new distribution channels and, in addition to numerous uncontested
risks and new opportunities, if you use them for white and finds its
audience. In
my "free and very good" article series, I've already pointed out
several alternative sales concepts, which all have in common is that the
music in the form of a download for free (or at least without mandatory
costs) finds its way to the listener. They are therefore only a limited extent as a substitute for commercial distribution of music. This limits their opportunity, but not always a significant loss of quality.
Crowd funding, i.e. collecting money for a specific project before the actual implementation is a method by which more and more unusual productions are realized outside the mainstream. The idea sounds exciting: It calculates its budget for the project and then collects the money from big-spending fans who receive not only the end product, but a few extras (to be on the bonus track to the private living room concert everything offered, depending on the size the donation, of course). If the financial needs once met by donations, you can implement without great economic risk his idea. If you have calculated correctly, then you can pay musicians, technicians, and possibly the CD pressing plant and minimizes the risk of a financial fiasco due to lack of sales. What sounds like a little realistic concept has, quite successful: For example, the largest crowd funding platform Kickstarter pumped no less than 36 million U.S. dollars (28.5 million euros) in the last 4 years in musical projects, including at least after all, accounted for $ 1.5 million on projects with classical music (which account for only 4% of projects).
JS Bach: Goldberg Variations - TitelseiteSo has seen it's no wonder that the Open Goldberg's project was a great success. Obviously there was plenty of donors who were willing to participate with a donation to the public domain edition (sheet music and recording) of the legendary Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). The financial success of the project but says nothing about the artistic value of consumption by Kimiko Ishizaka. Gave free shots of the Goldbergs on the net before: A fairly decent recording of Jeremy was thinking I imagined at this point already, a now copyright free version (public domain), the legendary 1945s recording of the Goldberg Variations pioneer Wanda Landowska there are also free here at archive.org). There are other examples that I may want to introduce in the coming weeks and months here (you can never have enough Goldbergs have, n'est-ce pas?). In addition, many would even the legendary 1955 recording of Glenn Gould, have standing in the closet (or even the often underrated 1981's new recording). At Goldberg Variations was not really lacking in the music world.
Kimiko is IshizakaIm case of this recording by Kimiko Ishizaka it is not only a free but also a very artistically successful recordings. Who knows, only the version of Glenn Gould, who will be surprised once in this recording: Kimiko Ishizaka generally takes significantly more time than Gould. While Gould wanted to represent the contrapuntal structure as a whole (and, with all due respect, even his playful mannerisms), it emphasizes the subtle ramifications canonically constructed within individual sentences. Her playing is clean and does not even in the fast passages hasty. Overall, one gets the impression that she has put great care into each individual variation. I would even go so far as to call it in an original recording (in terms of historical performance practice): Although she was on a modern concert grand (and not on a harpsichord), avoids modernisms Kimiko Ishizaka and interpretive liberties.
To put it in a nutshell: I do not think you should know the Goldberg Variations in only one version. The work is fascinating, too complex to know only the ultimate version - but Kimiko Ishizaka artistically recording can compete with the best recordings to modern concert grand. And, given the large number of recordings a plus point: While digging deep into their pockets for other recordings must obtain a valid here, first class for free admission, with a free license. And anyone who has interest in, the same can also still the notes and / or the iPad app for free to do so.
The sound recording is simply amazing the way, and goes far beyond the level that we know of free shots usually the contrary, the clear, clean and warm sound of the recording can compete with so many commercial recording. Since there's gold in the Open lossless audio formats (FLAC, WAV), one has to fear no audiophile sound degradation through audio compression.
Conclusion: Kimiko Ishizaka recording is not only free, it is also an artistically sophisticated, excellent unconverted recording of the Goldberg Variations. Of course, there is strong competition in the commercial sector, including and especially on the piano (the two recordings by Glenn Gould from 1955 to 1981, I've mentioned before, the shots of Angela Hewitt (2000) and Andras Schiff (2003) are also welcome as reference images called), but this free public domain recording is a very good starting point to enter into the wonderful world of the Goldberg Variations. Who's Goldberg Variations, in a way or other recording does / should have, yet do not let this excellent, thorough recording missed.

Free and very good: piano music
Piano music like that somewhere between the post-minimalist music by French composer Yann Tiersen (best known for his soundtrack to the movie "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain"), neo-romanticism of the Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi and the piano improvisations of Keith Jarrett are from the 1970s, which will likely continue to enjoy even the music of composer and pianist Fabrizio Paterlini italienichen: same dream, melancholic piano-colored miniatures, composed cleverly, well received and recorded talented. His last publication Sal just heard "Morning Sketches" there is virtually no cost as a pay-what-you-want download.

Placebo in Madrid
"I see the public a sign that says 'Madrid'. Thanks, but I know what city I am. " Based on eyeliner, Brian Molko has built an image of dark type that nothing further from reality: in exchange for a little more carefree pose, its aura of mystery disappears when dealing with the public. Or at least we had that feeling yesterday, actually, Madrid. After passing through Paris, Rome, Zurich and Hamburg, Placebo landed in the capital as a coda to a mini-tour that, through the initiative of Mercedes Benz (ai, marks, they will end up saving the music), has led to the stage as a band sound of the new car of the German company.
"Hi, hello brother, hello assholes: we Pla-ce-bo". First in perfect Spanish, ce real, later throwing them against the obvious signs that brought the fans, then doing the same against the "Cyclops" who see the show through the screens of their phones for a stripped Molko while its glam aura to actually get into the public pocket. "You can go online to criticize morning. It's called freedom of expression. " And so wide.
But hey, without acrimony. The hearing of the different plants of the Joy Eslava enjoyed, without compromises, like the most. And the concerts of this type is what you have: mixed audience, draw half entering and half by invitation, punctual waiting two hours before the show to enjoy the open bar before. The mythical and beautiful room of Madrid, to almost full capacity, prepared from mid-afternoon over beer and catering of Do piglet? to meet the group. And after twenty electrical and dubsteperos minute video presentation of the product (the car of Mercedes), Placebo came on stage to review their great songs.
They had many years without coming to the capital. "God! ¿Placebo? I saw it coming but when I tried to draw or "lamented more than a fan when the band would be recalled that last night around here. A pity, because they fulfilled. Although an event of such features always lack the magic of that in which the capacity has gone and only paid for itself and only to see his group, hour and a half long concert showed that it need not be so cold: between 17 tracks of the setlist, fell expected Ashtray Heart ("mai senisero, senisero mai"), Special Needs, Every You Every Me, Battle for the Sun or chanted The Bitter End, which exalt the Joy finished. At the time, other equally unwanted hits as Song to Say Goodbye, and for the encore (encores and everything!) Post Blue, Infra Red and Taste in Men.
In closing, greeting the public theater Stefan Olsdal (bass guitar), Molko (vocals, guitar) and drummer Steve Forrest young surrounded by the rest of the team (violinist and keyboardist), which topped the sound of a night of luxury. The guests left still excited: the post concert deserved it. The open bar was on pace to issues Thursday night. He had been an evening round.

Listen to "Letur Lefr" the new EP by John Frusciante
Three years ago took the disappointment of the fans of Red Hot Chili Peppers. John Frusciante, guitarist that so many glorious afternoons had given them, leaving the formation, and this time would be for good. Many were the ones who suffer their loss but finally today there are reasons to smile due to leakage in the network (by law) of "Letur Lefr" the new EP from New York guitarist.
As we unveiled a few weeks ago, "Letur Lefr" is a compilation of 15 minutes duration which bring together various issues that "Frusciante" recorded in 2010. Listening again found that Frusciante has opted to play with the melodies, creating an experience with experimental touches probably please the fans of disparate melodies.
As we analyze it properly deserves as we would love to read your comments. Is it "Letur Lefr" what you were hoping for Frusciante?

The (animated) tribute Red Hot Chili Peppers Brendan Mullen
A few days ago he got in the network's new music video 'Death Brendan's Song' by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The days have passed, and every god has spoken about it, but I needed to write something about it. Both because it is the best clip of the theme of 'I'm With You' (in fact almost the only one who even today often hear) and by the emotional nature of a production that pays tribute directly to Brendan Mullen, who in his day was a founder of the legendary club The Masque in Hollywood and was a great friend of the band. Unfortunately Brendan died from a shot three years ago.
The video, which was directed by Marc Klasfeld (Foo Fighters - Times Like These, Fun - We Are Young) shows the band playing Anthony Kiedis through the streets of New Orleans, probably the best place to make an act of these characteristics. The reason for this? Over the years New Orleans has adapted the military band music at funerals, thereby encouraging a celebration that always seems sad and downcast. The musical march through the city of Louisiana has been without doubt the best and most elegant option, the Red Hot could have chosen for this video. And all in the end it works amazing, with many extras, lots of fire and some other memorable final portrait dedicated to the family of Brendan.

Joshua Radin in Barcelona
I could lie and tell the following lines how great was the first listen of "Simple Times", how much it meant to me. However, I prefer to be honest: I remember the first time I heard a song by Joshua Radin. Surely it was in a scene from any series or movie, because his music has appeared in over 75 productions, but also put his hand on fire. The one fact I am sure is that I loved from the start. I remember (of course) that a song was enough to convert "We Were Here" and "Simple Times" on two albums on my iPod fixed. I also remember the momentum that began touring the Boston record stores looking for them (in that sense, Newbury Comics never fails). I also remember the joy I felt upon hearing the news of his visit to Spain. The Saturday evening of this visit was consummated.
A half-filled City Hall waiting for eight o'clock in the afternoon, the output of a singer from Ohio who was about to step on stage for the first time Spanish. He left a few minutes later, shy, with his trademark hat, and refugee and after his guitar. He admitted his nerves and excitement for the challenge presented to him and apologized for not knowing our language. Sympathetically revealed his surprise at the fact that someone had come to him, considering that in 45 minutes started the quarter-finals of Euro, which faced Spain and France. He then made his debut with a "No Envy, No Fear 'that sounded slow and timid and failed to awaken the minds of the public, even when the artist was encouraged to sing at the edge of the stage, no microphone. For much of the concert, the audience seemed more attentive to the words of Radin between songs when they played with him singing some songs.
Thanks to the artist's attitude (with the invaluable help of whiskey with him), we know many details of all their albums. We now know that "We Were Here", her first album, was inspired by the breakup with his first girlfriend and his then titled "Simple Times", was based on the break with the second. After months like a lost soul for a broken heart, a 'Brand New Day' filled him with hope and encouragement to keep going. We also discovered a couple of friends Radin, heard one of his singles in your intimate moments and asked him to compose a special cuandon one of those moments, trying to bring new life to the world (do not untangle what those issues if someone prefers not to know).
Note that, together with 'Brand New Day', 'I'd Rather Be With You' was the most chanted in the evening. They were also very well received parts of their upcoming album, especially the song that gives name, "Underwater" (can be downloaded free here), and "Where You Belong '. This new work (which will be released on July 31) seemed to please the audience, because, although it has a touch more Hawaiian, the issues we presented are more similar to "Simple Times" at "The Rock and The Tide "(which did not play any songs). The name of his new album, of course, surje of recent experience related to overcoming a problem in the eardrums of Radin that had prevented him from diving under sea water until a few months (experience related in the interview I conducted last week).
