PlanetZMan can not choose his audience, certainly not on the first European tour. Because everything is possible. From a club filled with hundreds, of whom it pleases no one, to the best gig of the career to eight people, anything goes. The Greek Southern rockers of "Planet of Zeus" had on Tuesday evening at the "Garage Deluxe" luck. The audience was enthusiastic. All 20 who were there.
The Clock shows shortly after nine, when most of the guests walked towards the stage. Planet of Zeus, Greece's flagship property in Southern and heavy rock was loaded - and a few had actually come. First, however, entered the first support band of the night - Tanertill - the stage. His
first act, before the games, decided the two, "sow as mäik se
announcements in English, sou ouch Griek friends kangaroo anda sized
As." Undeterred by the lack of audience and their own English language
skills put Munich's best Modern Stoner Ghost happening rock band and
presented in the usual manner of fat most of her debut album. The
set list, "sow what tunait written in a may eliminate Change sign gud
friend of as" made, definitely feel like the second album that is
currently in the works, and "sometime later this year" was finished, as
guitarist Andi after the performance in good German said.
After a short break with Black Lightning was the second band of the evening at the Munich series. The
trio delivered from an AC / DC-owned Hard Rock show, which would have
fit better in a stadium filled with subtle than in the garage. She
also sought contact with the audience and assured those present a good
decision and waives the Champion's League, and instead have to listen to
Black Lightning.
Finally entered the main characters of the evening the stage. Planet
of Zeus, founded in 2000 and Greece in a large number when it comes to
rock, have to "Eleven the Hard Way" and "Macho Libre" already released
two albums and go to the "Dawn of the Dead" now for the first time in
Europe. The bearded Greeks grabbed their instruments and hit it off.
It's hard to describe what was coming from the Athens quartet, shortly after eleven, in the garage Deluxe. Difficult
because there are so phrases are, you really do not want to thrash, as
they appear in the description of every other village band and were
validated by these false and inflated using now. "Riffgewaltig" for example. Or "fat bass" and "groovy drums." If
we ignore this cliché descriptions, can be Planet of Zeus probably best
described with the following three words: In your face! With incredible energy and precision, they dissected - symbolically - the garage into their individual parts. Its powerful heavy rock, always with the right touch of stoner rock à la Monster Magnet, delighted the audience. That
resulted in a relatively tight-lipped frontman Babis by the event, did
the mood was great, it was much more sympathetic, as they celebrated
their music, despite the relatively empty clubs.

Born Free
America, much loved and hated land of infinite possibilities. America itself, but a very out lutschtes topic actually. America, focusing on typical suburban ideal world, and dream images, that have actually discussed a surprising perspective Schaumberger Florian and Marc Thalberg in their joint exhibition "Born Free" at the Art Academy.
Even the invitation flyer for the show seduced to take so zuckerbäckersüß how the two artists, the small American suburban house on a silver tablet just serve the public. But anyone who expects with American kitsch, he was mistaken. Welcomes the visitor in the classroom 0118 by a suburban girl-projection, which is spent on pleasure and passion of Gogostange - perhaps with the hope to become one day the new Lana del Rey? "Mei, wenns give something to the club, what is the point even more real dancers?" Exclaims a guest. Views is not just In Holds. Then, once let loose a little bit to the right the view from the erotic seduction, wood beams blazing with a flag in front of him.
Florian Berger foam, with its projections on installations almost created holograms, "but I like it when everyone sees that, while it looks deceptively flat but is seen projected." He explains. Mark Thalberg has also worked for his work with a projector, but only in the preparatory phase. He has thrown from him with a Photoshop composite photo on the wall and then copied in pixel by pixel. Two women are seeing it. "Why are the exact two women?" He asks in the round. "In my mind I remember the missing man in a family that is involved in the war." Adds Marc.
In the exhibition, the painting is projected in a darkened room with diffused light, dancing around, black plastic balloons, powered by fans. A strange atmosphere hangs in the room - the animated balloons act as überdimensonialisierte bugs or flying swarms of souls, or at least indefinable organic. They have a mystical swarm dynamics, curve around the body of the visitor or invite her to a play. As image and balloons linked remain a little unclear exactly. "Plastic." Says Marc. "America is not any plastic?" If only the word plastic melts on the tongue like artificial sweetener. (Note to the author so I just ...). Whatever. Exhibitions are good, if not it can replace the pictures in the remotest experience with the art suburb. In Born Free is that, and that's nice! Nice that Intel's Museum of Me went to media art in real space can actually do anything!
PS: Marc Thalberg was the way a sound worth listening cloud of very fine techno.

The Black Keys and John Fogerty pay tribute to Levon Helm of The Band
The second weekend of Coachella 2012 has had many surprises. One of the most talked about was the joint version of The Black Keys and John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival) performed 'The Weight' in order to pay tribute to Levon Helm, The Band mythical musician who died last week and that in his long musical career was also recognized for his work with the band that backed Bob Dylan on his first tour electric (The Hawks).
Past and present of rock n 'roll together and paying tribute to an old Glora sector. Perhaps we could think of a better way to fire a big music history? I doubt it. Rest in peace Levon.

Stunning dark
The chilling darkness, the stunning embarrassment of this music is deeply penetrated my consciousness, and makes me freeze in awe of this amazing soundscape. After the excellent "Amen" EP (tape edition via sound relationships) last year, ΔAIMON place now with "Flatliner" after. Nebulous dream-pop, fuzziness Industrial sounds, scraping drag elements, drones uncomfortable, scratchy textures, Half-Step-tech and secretive aspirated vocals are brought together into a unique sound blend. Gloomy, uncomfortable, intelligent neo-synth-pop. Unparalleled, outstanding!
"Flatliner" on 17 April 2012 published by Tundra exquisite Dubs label from San Francisco. The album can be heard on the band's camp-site of the label in its entirety and purchased as a limited LP or download are.

Shared pain
Xiuxiu_München concerts by Xiu Xiu are something of suffering in the semi-public space, so the visitor pays a small contribution to the best possible view of the self-flagellation by Jamie Stewart, played catch with his current three-man backing band. So also on 10 April in the moderately filled crane hall of the Munich plant celebration.
Fair to accuse anyone of having chosen that evening for another form of entertainment - the performances by the Americans are not particularly easy rezipierbar, ranging from the almost non-existing interaction with the audience to spread the four on and off the stage a physically noticeable discomfort, an unpleasant intersection of rugged, repellent gesture and harassed unrest. Most clearly the focus, of course, in the person of Jamie Stewart himself - a driven man who writhes with a faraway look on his guitar, his (selbstbezeugt) ill feelings from the prying eyes down there accused to be devoured, while apparently so under pressure that is says he'll be able to bring the evening to end non-healing.
If he does, of course, but - surprise at all, you have him and his band credit, the music that accompanies this outward display of pain and transformed wonderful, finest indie and post rock is - cold, of course, but also fascinating. This applies to the pieces of his fabulous new album "Always", especially the single "Hi", "Joey's Song" and "Beauty Towne," as well as for older songs, with "Fabulous Muscles," "The Fox And The Rabbit "" I Love The Valley OH! "he mixes his set balanced between past and present. In between, again, the almost obsessive mouthwash using two different liquids, the handwritten change a guitar string (elsewhere the industrious Roadie using a second instrument quickly bridges) in any case of Stewart - no one dares the audience even utter a sound at all - the tense, proverbial ordeal. So much louder then the cheers for two successful cover versions done already seems "Ceremony" from the late work of Joy Division and for this band and this evening, when the furious encore "Frankie Teardrop" staggers from Suicide and jumps Stewart, from his own microphone cord strangled , with lucid smile across the stage - the big show. And certainly the end of an unconventional, but successful evening.

Nina Hagen with her people in the Beat Tour 2012 04/21/2012 Muffathalle in MünchenAm it in the Muffathalle flashy, colorful and extremely crazy, because Nina Hagen, together with her band as part of the "People Beat Tour 2012" in Munich as a guest. The great cultural editors of the leading media, this time in complete agreement: Nina Hagen - the only German pop icon of international repute, the dazzling diva with a difference, the shrill exceptional singer - was always present, the media always ... and yet it is back. Sure, Nina Hagen, this work also to her audience, her fans worldwide would like to introduce live - and that can only be implemented in unbestuhlten venues such as the Muffathalle not in churches. Nina has always been persecuted wayward projects, with great success, because their fans do not just interchangeable artists, but artists with that special something with aura. Qualities, then, the Nina has definitely.
Let us only once to the great Brecht Project, together with musicians of the new buildings and Meret Becker, to the project with great swing orchestra and of course their real rock concerts. No matter what project Nina is on stage, it's always Nina pure and never missing their big hits, from "Zoo Station" to "TV Glotzer" - presented as always, the audience always get what it says: Nina Hagen.

Listen to 'Burn It Down', first single from the new Linkin Park
Confirmed: June 26 is the day which will release "Living Things", the new and last Linkin Park. Besides working with Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy) have a drive titled first single 'Burn It Down' which can be heard from now through YouTube. Enjoy it here at Binaural.
The style of the piece so much to remember that we are in "A Thousand Suns". Still seems to have left a hair over that point techno band to get into a more industrial area seen in "Wretches & Kings", "Fallout" or "Robot Boy". At the moment we think the findings in these four minutes of duration of 'Burn It Down' but still have to do with that we will run the rest of the LP.
Do you like the single? Are you up to what you expected of 'Burn It Down'?

Blood Red Shoes - In Time To Voices (2012)
Acknowledge that I have felt some degree of thrill to read a few months ago a few words in which Laura-Mary Carter claimed that his new venture in the form of LP would be "the most ambitious seen to date." Viewing the evolution discography existing garage rockers Blood Red Shoes did not fit at all clear whether the British duo were able to make an album that falls below the level of form shown in "Box Of Secrets". Thankfully my fears dissolve eventually start listening to an "In Time To Voices" who can play in higher divisions.
With a clean production and millimeter Laura and Steven have managed to create a personality that has definitely moved away from the labeling that stood as a mere group of "guitar-drums." There is a crushing feeling, brutal and shocking in the single 'Cold', 'Stop Kicking' or 'Je Me Perds' (fireworks go cut!) That is capable of creating, by itself, true sandstorms. Not to mention 'Lost Kids', a piece that begins in a very cryptic and get disproportionately grow up to sonic catharsis in a chorus that recalls the best and most neat, Feeder. Sonic Youth and Minor Threat are some bands that come to mind when listening to the disc but it is best that perception comes as a tiny reference, not as mere copies.
Blood Red Shoes DNA has exploded, this time with the creation of a galaxy of sound that places them in a different plane of the Milky Way today. That distinction, flexible and ambiguous meaning reaches with slow pieces like 'Night Light', where everything coheres, it seems feasible. "Houston, we have a problem." With Blood Red Shoes are all safe.

Flashes of class 'Criminal Mind' by Lukas Graham
And on "LG" arrived. Yesterday was when he started selling debut album of the rough diamond of the soul / r & B Graham Dane named Lukas. We already have done with a copy of and at least a priori tracks fall short of expectations: the LP sounds so fresh and authentic as intuit in time through the videos that Lukas was rising gradually to YouTube.
'Criminal Mind' is certainly the song that has sorprenddo disk. That magic epic, wrapped in a bright halo of the best R & B of Justin Timberlake, make the (presumed) future single whole "hit" able to break the mold in the Scandinavian chart hits. So that you can taste it as best they deserve here we leave with great live performance that Lukas Graham made last week in the program X Factor To see if short climbs on Soundcloud or YouTube version of the excellent study of this topic.

Band Of Horses debuted new topic in Brazilian lands
Ben Bridwell and other members of Band Of Horses came to the festival Lollapalooza Brazilian for a performance that included both 'The Funeral', 'No One's Gonna Love You "and his older classics and some of the issues that drew up that" Infinite Arms "we love. The Seattle, taking advantage of the radiant sun that illuminated the stages of the festival of Sao Paulo, thrown into the pool playing for the first time a theme - 'Long Vows' - that have different numbers to appear on the tracklist of the forthcoming LP that allegedly produce Glyn Johns, producer of artists on the size of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones.
The piece reminds a little of 'Older', 'Monsters' and some of those hot topics that always appear in the latter part of the list of songs included on their LPS. Curiously on this occasion the Band Of Horses friends have avoided the slide guitar, an action that appeared in an almost omnipresent on the album - "Infinite Arms" - that made them to be nominated for the Grammy Awards.
We leave you both with 'Long Vows' as with the complete recording of that Band Of Horses directazo performed at Lollapalooza in Sao Paulo.Enjoy the first direct Band Of Horses on Brazilian soil!

What has made the difficult music blogging
In four weeks of this blog seven years old. Time to take a comprehensive résumé, because it has changed a lot in recent years, both personally and universally. Hence it is important to draw conclusions, which I am still not entirely clear.
"Most rock journalism is people who can not write, interviewing people who can not talk, for people who can not read"
This quote from Frank Zappa is of course preposterous. Rock music in general has always been more than just music, was always an expression of zeitgeist, society and development. And that has always been so recognized by the artists, the writers and the readers or listeners. This has nothing changed.
What has changed is the input side of the music bloggers. Input is: The music offering - not the number of bands, I think that was already high before, but the availability and access to the band has changed a lot. Input is advertising copy, press releases so. Input is by author-journalist bloggers written texts about the music offerings. The input side has exploded.
What has changed for me personally
Has changed massively, who writes about it. Apart from the fanzines of Punkära there were twenty or even ten years, hardly so much text about music is like today. When I started blogging, there were at least heard the term of the blog, how to blog in my party had remained unintelligible word game - can identify - based upon a Bloc Party concert. It was also in Germany has been a music blog, the bounceback Nico, for example, the Popnutten, the stage divas and some that are already partly different. It was easy to find its space, it was established music magazines, which had their period of adjustment ahead of it and drove on retracted tracks and there was music blog, brought a new look, a new Add new themes. For me this meant that focus on concerts in Munich, because back then, there is no site that procured a concise, annotated diary of concerts a certain style of music. It was raw, untreated, analog concert photos, because the aesthetics of contemporary digital cameras and photographers was unbearably boring. It was bands from Bavaria, who had earned a little more attention than they received in the established print magazines. And they said unfortunately, "the bands of the other" chasing to serve the machine.
What has become of it? For concerts in Munich, there was one, two years later, half a dozen professional and amateur sides, which offered a comprehensive overview and calendar, so I could focus on the pearls, not a bad development. Concert photographers, there were soon more than there are writers, even people who really know their business (including digital) and take fantastic images such as Andre. I soon found myself in the dilemma that I actually wanted to take pictures only with me congenial band, but had no time for the Accreditation marathon, so to me the good positions were denied. Thus, also reduced this part of my blog. Bands from Bavaria was more likely to bands from Germany: The Music Alliance Pact was probably the best thing that happened to me. He is indeed the reader may not be very clear, but it's worth time and again, I am still convinced.
The cacophony of the press releases
And "the bands of others"? Luckily I left the mill behind me. It's amazing how many press releases each day purely flutter with me. And it's a shame how many blogs they broadcasted, to make it a servant of a business. Do not get me wrong, there are labels that are well worth it, because they simply do incredibly good work, passion and put private money into the bands and their records and not so rich. But the other part of the mail you yawn, excerpts from some emails that are now addressed is: "Pre-Order Jack White's debut album," "Jägermeister thrust rocket to Deicide on the stage", "Carter Tutti VOID: New Video" "New Video: BETH JEANS HOUGHTON & THE HOOVES" or "Reminder: Tour Announcement Listen To Polo". I delete all the unread, but the Caps Lock justifies das. And "friendly reminder" are the very last.
We see, on the input side there are hundreds of pointless emails that make you want to fish out as a blogger who personally addressed, private inquiries. I must apologize, I can not do more, so I read almost no mail on the official account anymore, it was like before a not year. Speaking to the madness of promotional messages are really good and interesting messages to undermine it. Forget press releases.
The diversity of opinions and content
But the explosion was strong on the author side, the developments are obviously reflexive and self-reinforcing. The number of blogs in the last three or four years is so increased that it was no longer simply as a blogger, whose principles and interests changed, to find his niche, which one would like to plow through and persevering. The goals of the blogs began to differ significantly. To put it in the words of No Song Unsung:
"I do not think music blogs all necessarily have to consist of" good writing ", whatever that means. There are different blogs that serve different purposes. There's the blog that shares music videos or the photo blog that only contains pictures. There are blogs that cover music news, blogs that share random thoughts ... and so on. "
And the negative consequences are multiplied everywhere visible, for example, the percentage of good-digit tumble music blog. For this, the Idolator:
"As the audience for music blogs has expanded, the word counts of posts have shrunk, and the commenters have gotten meaner and greedier. Instead of the kind of thoughtful and occasionally heated discussion that was once the norm, we are now treated as heretics if we fail to bestow upon our readers the free music they feel they deserve. Forget good writing-music blogs have chased the lowest common denominator that anything longer than Sun aggressively a blurb merits a "tl; dr."
The Decibel Tolls for the same thing:
"Blogs Tend to jump on the same buzzword bands, chew them up, and spit them out. The result - thousands of blogs on the internet writing about the exact same shit. The idea of a "marketplace of ideas" flies out the window ... "
So far, so true. It is therefore easy to write about what is popular one. So this article could actually be over. But not if I want to consider the implications for blog party because I was writing the last few years, just about what I liked. But not often enough, I think.
A final attempt
After I felt this product every year to write again, the fault must lie on my side, yes. Since I'm going to start now to work and my daily routine remains strong, will now be a last attempt to write in this blog, what I really want. I want to inform, entertain, stimulate any time a discourse that takes kontextuieren interpret, describe and announce. And I would like to rummage in my record box, which contains hardly any current bands, but often works that are older than me with built in 1983.
And at the same time to create a balance between two aspects, the decision illustrates by quoting this article. See you over there.
"Most rock journalism is people who can not write, interviewing people who can not talk, for people who can not read"
